Garbage & Recycling
Interstate Waste is Ringwood's solid waste and recycling contractor. Residential solid waste curbside collection is once a week. Recycling curbside collection is every other week. Recycling and garbage questions or concerns should be directed to Interstate Waste at (866) 342-5497 or the Ringwood Recycling Department at (973) 475-7179.
The Borough also owns and operates our own Recycling Center located at the end of Peter's Mine Road (off Margaret King Aevnue). Recycling Center hours are Saturdays and Sundays 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Wednesday 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. See attached list for recyclable items accepted at the Recycling Center. Christmas trees must be brought to the Recycling Center during the month of January only.
Interstate Waste provides curbside leaf pickup once a week during the months of April, May, October and November. During these weeks, leaf pickup starts on Monday and continues throughout the week. A curbside heavy metal pickup service is also available through the Borough by appointment.
Please review the Garbage & Recycling 2019 Newsletter and the Curbside Recycling Pick Up 2019 Calendar for more details. They can be found on the right hand side of the page under "Public Works Documents."
