Meet Our Team
Ryan LaCorte is our Recreation Director. Ryan brings an enthusiasm for recreation to the department, “I truly enjoyed my recreation experiences as a youth and they were a positive influence in my life. I am happy to be in a position to give back.” Ryan is a member of both the National and New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association. He is certified by A.C.E.P., Rutgers, and USA Hockey to be a coach. He is also a Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinician. For years, he has been a master personal trainer for people of all ages including young kids and seniors. Ryan uses his experience in the health and fitness industry to create wellness programs for the Borough’s Recreation Department. He has also been a trainer for athletes of all sports as well as training and coaching teams. Ryan has worked as an ice hockey coach and in sports camps. Ryan is familiar with organizing events. While at William Paterson University, Ryan studied a variety of recreation related courses including nutrition, strength and conditioning, special physical education and working with the disabled. He has participated in a variety of sports growing up at both the recreation and travel team levels and has a background in organizing recreation events. Evie Leenas joined the Recreation Department in February, 2016. She is also the Senior Coordinator and the liaison to the Seniors Club in Ringwood and is currently the Alternate Deputy Registrar for the Health Department’s Vital Statistics. Evie and her husband have lived in Ringwood since 1995. She has 4 daughters, all who have participated in Rec sports since they were little. She was involved with the Lacrosse Program from 2004-2014 and served as the Girls Lacrosse Director from 2009-2014. She was a member of the Martin J. Ryerson PTO for 8 years and the Cupsaw Lake Beach Club for 12 years, serving as President from 2007-2010. She volunteered her time with the Lakeland Regional High School Field Hockey Team and Lacrosse Team Booster Clubs. Ringo walked out of the woods next to Borough Hall one day and asked if he could be a part of the Parks & Recreation & Events team. He hasn't left since! He is extremely friendly with lots of energy so he fits right in with the Borough Hall employees. Ringo likes to spend his time helping the Parks, Recreation & Events team either at the office in Borough Hall or hanging out at Ringwood Recreation programs and events. He is in charge of morale and just wants the kids to be safe and have fun.
