Ringwood Police Department Body Worn Camera Program
Effective September 1, 2021, the Ringwood Police will be using body worn cameras, in compliance with New Jersey Attorney General Guidelines. For uniformed patrol officers, the BWC will be positioned on the outer clothing and placed within the upper center chest area. Officers not assigned to patrol duties may be wearing the BWC’s on their belt.
Law enforcement agencies across New Jersey will be using body worn cameras in a variety ways; to enhance agency transparency, to strengthen officer performance and accountability, to improve evidence collection, to document encounters between police and the public, and to investigate and resolve complaints and officer involved incidents.

Blue Envelope Program
The blue envelope brings together law enforcement and motorists with autism and other sensory disorders. It is a resealable and convenient place to keep all driver documents and contains instruction for both the driver and the interacting officer in the event of a traffic stop.
This excellent program will help us bridge the gaps in communication and build empathy in our community. If you or a loved one would like to participate in the Blue Envelope Program, please stop at the Ringwood Police Department Headquarters and pickup an envelope at our front desk.
