Water & Sewer

6/21/2024 FROM THE RINGWOOD WATER DEPARTMENT:
This is a reminder from the Borough of Ringwood that by ordinance you are required to follow the odd/even watering schedule. We are asking that you assist us during this heatwave and voluntarily eliminate all outside water usage this weekend in an effort to avoid the possibility of imposing a water restriction. Should you have any questions, please call 973-475-7144. We thank you for your assistance.

WHAT IS AN ODD/EVEN WATERING SCHEDULE?  Odd numbered addresses are allowed to water on odd-numbered days, and even-numbered addresses are allowed to water on even-numbered days.  Please refrain from watering during the hours of 10am to 5pm when water loss is greatest.

WATER UPDATE 6/17/2024:

During times of high demand, we use reservoir water to supplement our water supply.

Currently we are performing routine maintenance on the well that provides a significant amount of water to our community.

During this time, we will be utilizing additional reservoir water.

While reservoir surface water has a different taste and odor than well water, it is treated in accordance with DEP standards.

Work on our well is almost complete and we anticipate returning our well to service early next week.

The Borough supplies water to approximately 3,214 customers. The Borough's water supply consists of four groundwater wells maintained by the DPW - Water Department. Wells are located at Beattie Lane, Valley Road, Brooksyde Avenue, and Cannici Drive.

The Borough’s Water Operator can be reached at (973) 475-7133.

Water and Sewer payments must be made payable to RINGWOOD WATER DEPARTMENT. For billing questions, please call (973) 475-7116.

Final readings for water should be called in in advance of the closing date in order to allow enough time for the reading to be properly scheduled. Call (973) 475-7116 to schedule.

The State Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) can help you pay arrears for your water and sewer bills. The program may also be able to help address tax liens due to water and sewer arrears. To get more information and apply, go to waterassistance.nj.gov or call NJ211.
